Emo-Goth-Punk Day!

Oh yes, another MK holiday. Not quite sure who came up with this one, but everybody is required to participate. Emo-Goth-Punk Day means that we all dress up scary, then go to various locations to take picutures. I was the least dressed up out of anybody there, but I think we could all agree that Tyler was the best looking punk. I'll post some pictures whenever I get the pictures. Also, for the latest Mission Gossip: A new girl moved in on the 2nd floor. She seems pretty cool- she sings, drinks tea, and said she'd love to join me on my sunrise adventures. Yea!

Stay off the road!

"Wake up, Jenna! Salem needs more pictures of the family, dress nice!" Ugh. You've gotta be kidding! Turned out to be a lot of fun taking the pictures though, so I'm not complaining!
Anyway, yesterday I went and looked at the apartment Karis is interested in; and it was so adorable! And I got my drivers permit! Yea! I skipped the whole "parking lot practice" step, and just drove home in the stick shift. Oh, yeah! Ok, so I didn't drive ALL the way home, I just took over the wheel when we got to 2nd street. Yea!
Also, you must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love my Tyler. (No, not YOUR Tyler, MY Tyler!) He's such a sweet kid! He was talking on the phone when Karis and I arrived home last night, and immediately he told his friend that he had to go because his sisters were home. Then he just sat down and wanted to hear everything that had happened, everything about Karis's job, apartment, my permit, Dunkin Donuts, everything! I just thought it was so cute how estatic he was about everything in K's and my day. When he prayed over our food at dinner he just happened to thank the Lord for all of the blessings showered upon each one of his siblings, but was perfectly content with not mentioning anything about himself. It's so evident how selfless he is and how much he genuinely cares for everybody else. Four Brownie Points to Tyler!

Alright, I must stop my bragging on this stunning young Gent, that just so happens to be related to me, because I have a lot of reading to do before bedtime. G'night!

Human Slurpees?

I had a terrible nightmare last night. Well, some people might not categorize my dream as a "nightmare," but I thought it was pretty scary. Promise not to laugh? Good. Ok, story time with Jenna Lyn is now in session. So I think I was visiting my friend's church when all of a sudden I found myself in a big cold room. Apparently this church grows in numbers so rapidly that they have an annual slurpee making event- the only catch is that they are making human slurpees. Sounds kind of strange? What kind of church would eliminate their youth group by making the teens into slurpees?! Well don't look at me, I was the victim! Ok, so back to the story. They locked all of us into this large, white, cold, room. Then they began the slurpee making. Big scary drills and spikes started coming out of all of the walls, so we had to dodge them. It was getting more and more risky every step we took, and, obviously, getting more and more scary. But! Don't loose hope my fellow bloggers! I have not been turned into a slurpee after all! Because of my mucho muki-muki I was able to pull myself up onto a tall stack of chairs, thus escaping the tragic death of being made into a slurpee! Yea! Oh yes, I did forget one detail. When I took refuge on the stack of chairs, I did also save Aleah by helping her up too! I'm not really quite sure where she came into my dream, but rest assured, we are both safe now! YEA!

Can any one of you interpret dreams?

Lani Day

"It's way too early to be doing this, Jenna!" I said to myself this morning, as I cheerfully sprang out of bed to beat the sun! Last night around 1:00am I carefully made my breakfast, so it would be all ready to grab when I woke up. I wanted to see the sunrise! It was a glorious morning. I brought out my blanket, my Bible, and my breakfast, to the back porch of the mission. I ran for a little while, and then got to sit, relax, read, and eat. So much fun! After an hour of paradise I retreated back to my bed to finish up my nights rest. I then re-awoke at eleven for second breakfast. A splendid way to start the holiday!
Now incase you all were not aware of it, allow me to enlighten you. Today is Lani Day! It is a National Holiday observed most strictly by all upright citizens of the US - that is - me and my circle of friends.
To begin the celebrating we had a picnic in the orange grove. (Yes, Jessie, we did indeed have a picnic basket!) Swimming, back to my place, Beverly Hillbillys, over to the Homes for Tededae, Lani's house, then back to my place to eat Tacos, a nice evening stroll along the lake, and then we showed the movie Aladin followed by The Little Mermaid. Oh, what a day! Now my question for you: how did you celebrate Lani Day?

Buh-Bye!

Camp!

Back from camp everybody! I was kinda hoping it would be a nice vacation from life, but despite my efforts, life seemed to hunt me down even in TN. But hey, it really wasn't too bad. It was acually a pretty good week. We had alot of fun at the water park and the rope courses. The worship was absolutely amazing; it was Jeff Johnson! Now Karis and Shane saw him at a camp in Texas when they were like in middle school, and we've been listening to him ever since! He does some really good worship music. The speakers were pretty good too! But the thing that I loved the most about this week was the bus ride home. Now you must understand that because of everything that has happened in our family lately, I have just been feeling kind of numb the past couple weeks. I'm not quite sure that will make any sense to most of you. But it's just like my emotions shut down, and I feel like I've been slowly drowning. So the camp itself wasn't exactly the most growing experience this year, because I was still feeling, for lack of a better word, numb. But on the bus ride home, I sat next to Josh, the Youth Pastor. And the two of us started talking, and we talked and talked and talked. It was really neat. God really used him to help me begin the process of healing I have desired for such a long time. Yea! Also when I arrived home, I walked into a freshly painted bedroom! What a splendid surprise! Turns out that Jessie and some of the girls came over while we were at camp and painted my room light blue and brown! It looks lovely!

Slurpees!

Well, I must begin this post with a most sincere apology. I am so very sorry that I have neglected you all for such a long time! It's just that life has been pretty crazy 'round here. I'll just give you a short review of some of the things that have happened recently: There was a couple movie nights; couple parties; the Mexico lunch; couple big beautiful thunder storms; many long nights sitting in my "office," we had a music night; Megan ate an onion; I started learning guitar; I scored thirty points bowling; Ryan, Hannah, and lil’ Riley came down for a sweet visit; we watched lovely fireworks; went to Rock Springs; Karis moved into her new room; Jessie, Tali, and Kelly finally got home; but most importantly, yesterday…. WE GOT SLURPEES! Yea for 7Eleven! We hit up 13 7Eleven’s for slurpees! But yesterday also just so happened to be Cow Appreciation Day! So after slurpee hopping we all dressed up like cows to collect our free meals from three different Chik-Fil-A’s, Yea! I must say, I can’t wail till next July 7th!
Anyway, my biggest, bestest, news to tell is that I’m going to be homeschooled this year! YEA!!! I’m so excited; I can’t wait to be homeschooled!

Oh yes, we also leave for camp tomorrow, Yea!
